The D & R GSM Hybrid is a new product from D & R that hugely simplifies the issue of how to take calls in an area with no landlines. Simply connect the unit to a telco or hybrid channel on your mixer and put a normal mobile phone simcard into the hybrid and you can take calls on the air! With features like HD voice, Echo canceling, digital EQ and application control over USB on your PC it is a nice tool to expand the communication possibilities of your studio with your reporters in the field.
Unlike other GSM gateways, this unit does not need a separate hybrid, as it is a hybrid in itself. It is also purpose built for broadcast use.
The electronics are housed in a sturdy metal 9.5″ rack mount case with antennas on the front side for optimum receiver conditions. An external 12 volt power supply adapter is provided. Software features includ input and output metering and level control, phone dialing, number recognition and GSM signal strength indication.
Reporter Call-in Reports!
It also provides reporters with a way to alert a studio presenter when they are ready to go ON AIR. With the D&R GSM Hybrid you can add a simple and effective wireless interface that your reporters can call. The D&R GSM Hybrid has its own number reporters directly can dial, the call can be taken on the mixing console due to built in GPIO’s. The Alert feature is implemented to let a reporter in the field ‘wake-up’ a DJ behind the desk to start an interview. Assumed is that a connection is already there and the DJ is doing some other work in the studio while the reporter waits for the moment to start the interview. On that moment the reporter only has to press the ‘0’ on his phone to alert the DJ. In the main window of the D&R GSM Hybrid Control application the background starts blinking red for 2 seconds. Also the GPO output alternates with this Alert signal. Doing so, the DJ knows the reporter is ready for the interview and he can mix the reporter live into the show.
HD-Voice (AMR-WB/G722.2) Balanced Audio in/Out Echo cancelling Digital EQ Control Configurable AGC PC control application via USB Also for mobile applications 12 volt DC car battery powered Ideal for areas without land lines Ideal for OB vans Simple GPIO Interfacing with alert on jacks Voice quality improvement over ordinary Hybrids
Input and output level meters (ppm) Input and output gain adjust Software keypad dialing Number recognition Built in address book GPIO configuration GSM signal strength indicator Easy sim card changing Dual diversity antennas More units in 1 software application possible Alert function with “open line via DTMF”on screen and GPO

The latest addition to the 10 Series product line, the dbx® 1074 QuadGate™, is the perfect companion to the 1066 and 1046. The 1074 offers 4 channels of gating with threshold, depth and release controls on each channel. The 1074, like the rest of the products in dbx 10 Series, is based on the legendary dbx V2 VCA and offers XLR inputs and outputs, and 1/4” side-chain input. In addition to an external key input per channel, the 1074 also has an internal filter that can be independently activated and controlled on a channel-per-channel basis. This filter allows the 1074 to not only clean up tracks, but gives you frequency selective control on each gate, to open exactly when you want it to. These features combined, make the 1074 an absolute must for those who require quad gating on applications including: Gating dry and percussive sounds such as snare drum and kick drum, gating sounds that have longer decay times such as cymbals and Pianos, gating hum or buzz from live instruments or recorded tracks or eliminating Headphone leakage into microphones. Gating instrument microphones to eliminate amplifier bleed. From the company that has been redefining the standard of signal processing for more than 30 years, dbx® Professional Products comes a bulletproof product that caters to the scrutinizing needs of those who require the precision noise gating capabilities. Once again, the engineering staff at dbx® Professional Products have taken technology that has been over three decades in the making and have created a product that is flexible, versatile and rock solid in construction design. The 1074ʼs independent channel design with key filtering capabilities make it the perfect tool for countless applications.
